Larry Bornhofen Hall of Fame Member Joliet

Larry Bornhofen has been running since the late 1970′s. He started running because he felt he needed to do something other than play softball and because it made him feel better. He joined the Prairie State Road Runners in 1996.

He has run in about 150 races through the years, including 2 marathons and 6 legs of River to River with the Breakfast Club. The club can always count on Larry for volunteer efforts at club races and events. He has also brought 3 new members to the club, his daughters, Sarah, Amanda and Anna. Larry continues running for 2 reasons: to stay healthy and because of the friends he has made in the club. He entertains the Breakfast Club each Sunday morning after our long run with one of his biggest contributions being his bloody Mary consumption.
