Sue Mores

President
Channahon

I began running in 1998 after being inspired by a friend who was training for the Chicago Marathon. It was his third marathon and I thought if he could do that, I could certainly run a few continuous miles, and I did. In the summer of 1999, I ran my first race - the Firefly 5K in Channahon - and have been hooked ever since.

I have run in numerous races over the years, including 13 marathons, and will be running my first Boston Marathon this April. Even though I qualified at the Grand Rapids Marathon, the Chicago Marathon will always be my favorite. I have been training on the I&M Canal State Trail at the Channahon State Park since moving to Channahon 10 years ago, which is where I met most of the members of the Prairie State Road Runners and other fellow runners and athletes. I am passionate about running and ensuring that the I&M Canal State Trail and the Channahon State Park remain open for all to enjoy.

I was honored this year when asked to take on the role of club President and have set the following goals for the club:
